Pantry Expansion Project 2025

Beacon of Hope has been working to increase food security for local families for more than **28 YEARS!!**  We want to thank each and every one of you who has contributed financially and/or gifted you time and energy to help further our mission programming!!!

We have seen a tremendous increase in the need for food assistance with the continued government shutdown, on top of key food assistance programs either being defunded and/or having their budgets drastically cut.  These cut hit our community especially hard, we are are still very much working to recover from the loss and devastation left in the wake of Hurricane Helene.

If you are able to help us in our efforts, shifting operations to expand our pantry programming and continue our work to better serve our beautiful, mountain community, we would greatly appreciate your continued support!!

Pantry Expansion 3.5

Beacon of Hope is currently providing weekly food assistance to 1,700 families each month!! To better serve our community, we are expanding our client choice shopping space & creating an indoor waiting area for families coming to receive assistance to wait out of the elements, which is extremely important as temperatures are beginning to drop.

We would be honored if you join us in raising funds to ensure our new space (3.5x the size of our current client choice shopping area) remains fully stocked with a variety of foods for our neighbors to choose from.

All proceeds from our Go Fund Me campaign will go to purchase food for our pantry. Additionally, as we are committed to supporting local farmers, 20% of funds raised will be used to purchase fresh produce from local growers!!

To Donate

Beacon of Hope is truly a vital resource and safety net for so many & we can't do this alone.

We are facing an unprecedented demand, THIS is our time to show up for one another!! Our community truly is our strength.

When you donate to our Go Fund Me (or through our website), you are investing in the well-being of our neighbors and helping to build a stronger, more resilient, and more compassionate community!!

Your support provides more than just food; it provides hope, love, security, and peace of mind...

We are beyond grateful to be receiving gorgeous, fresh, local and organic produce each week from Mother Earth Foods!!

Thanks to the Relief to Resilience food project and the power of partnership with American Red Cross, Equal Plates Project, Grassroots Aid Partnership, FastRoots Technology, and fiscal support from Impact Health Mother Earth Foods is responding to disaster and seeding a future where local food is the foundation of resilience.

This is what rebuilding stronger looks like: investing in our farms, feeding our neighbors and growing community from the ground up.

“Connecting and Empowering Our Community Through Food”

  • Food Assistance

Beacon provides weekly food assistance to roughly 1,700 low-income families each month in Madison and surrounding counties.

We distribute upwards of 40,000 pounds of food each month to our community, helping to increase food security for those in need.

  • Thrift Store

Beacon operates a donation-based thrift store providing a low-cost retail alternative, while creating the opportunity to assist families in need with emergency clothing and household items.

By shopping with us, you invest in Beacon’s mission and in YOUR community.

  • Get Involved
