THE MERMAID PARADE BE UPON US ONCE MORE, AND WE BE ON THE LOOKOUT FER THE MOST DARING PIRATES, ENCHANTING MERMAIDS, AND ALL MANNER OF WATER CREATURES TO JOIN OUR GRAND COSTUME CONTEST! IF YER HANDMADE CREATION BE FIT FOR DAVY JONES' LOCKER, THEN SET SAIL AND ENTER THE FRAY!
In partnership with the Downtown Marshall Association, Beacon of Hope presents the Marshall Mermaid Parade Costume Contest. Leading up to one of Marshall’s BEST days of the year, the Mermaid Parade & Festival, create a mermaid, pirate, or water creature costume with treasures from Beacon’s Thrift Store. Each ticket entry gets you a store voucher to choose supplies to go towards your costume!
How to Enter:
For the whole month of May! Sign up at Beacon of Hope’s Thrift Store during business hours (Monday-Saturday 10-4 PM) to enter, $25 CASH OR CHECK ONLY. You’ll receive a $20 Beacon Thrift Store voucher upon registration to gather supplies(clothing & household wares). You can use other supplies of your own too, but your costume must be a handmade creation.
Judging:
Based upon creativity, originality, effort, and thriftiness! Six category winners will receive prizes and an additional six category winners will be announced honorable mentions. All winners will receive Beacon of Hope Merch…plus bragging rights.

WHERE: 115 Blannahassett Island Rd. The Marshall High Studio gravel parking lot under the big white tent where the Seafood Competition will take place 1-3 PM. $5 of each seafood competition entry will go to Beacon’s Food Pantry, so be sure to get a food ticket beforehand! Lots of tasty treats.
